The bravest men in Baghdad?

 

Death usually comes to people, but we go to Death.’
 
So began the second episode of Unreported World, on Channel 4 – a series shaping up to be a vital strand in investigative reporting.
 
The first took place in the shattered lands of southern Sudan, where President Bashir is waging a bloody war against alleged militants, and thousands of villagers. The next episode moved to an equally tense and dangerous location, but one which has featured more heavily, perhaps, in the minds of western politicians.

EOD techs fight to keep motto

 

BLUEWATER BAY — At one time the billboard that towers over the intersection of State Road 20 and Range Road was like most of its kind — a series of advertisements for lawyers and fast food that flashed after two-second pauses.
 
But for at least the next month, one of those slides will have a very different purpose: the preservation of the Explosive Ordnance Disposal community’s unofficial motto, formerly displayed at the Navy school on Eglin Air Force Base
   

Explosive ordnance Marines heat up for air show

 

MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C.  — Cherry Point explosive ordnance disposal Marines plan to put on a big bang and ignite a 1,000-foot wall of fire for the 150,000 spectators expected at the 2012 Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Air Show May 4 – 6.
The Marines executed a down-sized practice run April 17, 2012, creating a 30-foot wall of fire and detonating other explosives at the station ordnance disposal range.
